At Shimmer & Shine Cleaning Company, we believe in spreading kindness year-round — not just sparkle! 🧼✨
We partner with our community to support local families, pets, and neighbors through monthly donation drives and hands-on volunteer work. Because when our community shines, we all sparkle brighter together.
Each month, we focus on a different way to help our community — from coats in winter to school supplies in fall.
Alongside collecting donations, we also dedicate time each month to volunteering with local organizations, allowing us to give back not just through items, but through action and connection.
Every month features a new cause and a new opportunity to serve, ensuring we’re reaching different parts of our community and making a well-rounded impact right here in Sioux Falls and beyond. 💛

January – Warm Hearts, Warm Homes
Donate new or gently used coats, hats, gloves & blankets. ❄️🧣
🤲 Volunteer: Launching in March 2026
10+ Items collected and donated to the St. Vincent De Paul of Sioux Falls
February – Paws for Love
Donate pet food, toys & supplies.🐾

40+ Items collected and donated to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society
This February, we shared a little extra love 💌 Our staff signed a card for every resident at Centerville Care & Rehab—because making moments shine is just as important as making spaces shine. ✨💜
March – Spring into Service
Donate personal hygiene supplies (toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner, soap & body Wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc.!)🧼
🤲Volunteer: This month our team contributed 6 hours of hands-on service, assembling light fixtures for Habitat for Humanity! 🛠️✨
60+ items collected and donated to the Women's Shelter at the Union Gospel Mission of Sioux Falls
April – April Showers of Love
Donate Baby items like diapers, wipes & lotion, blankets, toys, etc.👶
🤲Volunteer: Saturday, April 25th from 10am-12pm with the Parks n Rec Cleaning up Parks!
May – Mother’s Day Magic
Donate cozy self-care items, puzzles, journals, and small gifts to uplift moms at a local nursing home.
🤲Volunteer: Saturday, May 9th from 8:45am-10:45am with Feeding South Dakota at the mobile food drive!
June – School’s Out Snack Drive
Donate by helping fill the gap when school’s out—collecting non-perishable snacks, easy lunches, and drinks (think granola bars, juice boxes, mac & cheese cups, fruit snacks, etc.) for kids this summer, all going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire.🍎
🤲Volunteer: Tuesday, June 2nd from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.
July – Stars, Stripes & Support
Donate care packages for veterans and deployed military! Suggested items include:

Comfort & Practical Items: cozy socks, travel‑size toiletries, hand warmers, lip balm

Food & Snacks (Non‑Perishable): granola bars, trail mix, instant coffee/tea, peanut butter crackers

Entertainment & Connection: puzzle books, playing cards, journals, pens, hand‑written notes of encouragement
Your contributions help bring comfort, fun, and a personal touch to those who serve, all going to the VFW. ❤️🤍💙

August – Backpacks of Brightness
Donate school supplies for kids in need such as pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, markers, crayons. colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, rulers, durable backpacks, erasers, highlighters & more! All going to the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation🎒

September – Books & Brilliance
Donate Books & reading materials of all ages for literacy programs, all going to Reach Literacy Bookstore in Sioux Falls. 📚
🤲Volunteer: Saturday, September 19th from 8:30-10:30am at the Banquet!
October – Spooky Smiles
Donate treats that make kids smile—like candy, small toys, or Halloween-themed books—all going to the Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety 🎃
🤲Volunteer: Date and time with the Furniture Mission TBD!
November – Cans for a Clean Cause
Donate non-perishable foods—like canned veggies, soups, or pasta. All going to the St. Francis House🥫
🤲Volunteer: Date and time with the Bishop Dudley TBD!
December – Toys of Joy
Help spread holiday magic by donating new toys, board games, or children’s books for kids in need, all going to the Ronald McDonald House 🎁✨🎄
